Endurance Carbide remains open as a CRitical Manufacturer during Covid -19 Pandemic
You may have heard that the Michigan State Government issued a statewide "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order.  Endurance Carbide is exempt because we are considered part of the critical manufacturer sector, as we support American manufacturers in the Medical and Energy industries, as well as the Department of Defense.

During this Stay Home, Stay Safe period Endurance Carbide will remain open for business and continue to manufacture quality precision carbide wear parts for manufacturers.

Our supply chain is secure and we have not seen major delays in our incoming freight.  Support for orders, quotes, requests, and application help remain available with our customer service, quoting, engineering, expediting, and sales teams.  Our tooling continues to be manufactured with our dedicated CNC operators and machine operators.

We are taking measures to maintain a safe environment for our Endurance Carbide family by reminding employees to take appropriate preventative hygiene methods to minimize the potential risk of infection, restricting visitors to Endurance Carbide, encouraging employees to work from home when possible, and limiting face-to-face meetings.

We understand that during this time of uncertainty one thing you shouldn’t have to worry about is the availability or quality of needed tooling.  At Endurance Carbide, we are committed to the continued manufacturing of high-quality wear part tooling, as well as provide support to our customers in any way possible to help meet their needs.  We are fully dedicated to being available and help support our industry partners any way we can during these difficult times.

Best regards and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Endurance Carbide Team     Contact us, Sales@EnduranceCarbide.com  (989) 777-7950

How We’re Improving Our Processes

10/16/2019

Endurance Carbide, has implemented a Process Improvement Team, the P.I.T Crew, to address quality and process improvement change head-on.
Endurance Carbide Process Improvement team
Business can be a cruel environment. Adaptation is critical for survival. A business, no matter how long it’s been around, is untenable to change. Whether it’s within culture, product, or processes, change is always lurking behind doors. And it’s better to just let it in than have it wait around.

At Endurance Carbide, we’ve implemented a team to address change head-on. Our Process Improvement Team, the P.I.T Crew, comprises of production associates, and a plant and production manager. Together, this team tackles an array of topics covering our processes and how to improve and address any issues within them – from the company’s top to bottom.

When assembling the team, we didn’t exclusively reserve it to high-seniority positions. We wanted the P.I.T Crew to be as diversely robust as our company. By coalescing new associates with veterans of the company, the team possesses the capability of bringing something fresh to older processes.

The team meets once a month and addresses topics that are brought forward typically from a sales or production standpoint. Additionally, depending on the topic, other relevant team members will join the meeting to share their ideas.
One recent process addressed by the team is shipping and receiving. Through their deliberation, they looked at product protection and identification. They focused on how product can ship out and consistently arrive undamaged. This rendered a change in our containers.

Also during this review, the team unearthed a previously overlooked opportunity from a shipping standpoint – a chance to better market the company. The meeting resulted in new labeling on containers, along with an added logo etching on our products. Executing new marketing endeavors is vital for a company, as stale marketing efforts can leave a business behind. A poll from the National Small Business Association found that only 46 percent of respondents planned new advertising and marketing strategies last year.

To constantly address issues and processes from new angles, the P.I.T Crew will rotate team members year after year. This will also better provide everyone within the company a voice. Fresh eyes create a fresh company.

Many businesses may find themselves too quickly holding onto processes and solutions that generate even a modicum of success. They get caught in a vapid cycle while younger or new employees may sit on the sidelines with unheard ideas. Through the P.I.T Crew, we’ve taken notice of team members – of all ages and stations — bringing forth great ideas. Having the team puts value on all our employees.

P.I.T Crew is something we’ll continue as a company into the future as it better positions us to acquire new customers and recurring customers. We’ll never want to be a stagnant company. There’s always room for improvement and bigger successes.

Benefits of Using Carbide Punches

6/12/2019

To extend the life of your tooling and improve the quality of your product, you need precision wear parts built to withstand the rigors of your metal stamping application. At Endurance Carbide, we manufacture all of our punches from tungsten carbide.
Carbide punches are extraordinarily strong.
As one of the hardest materials in existence, tungsten carbide is twice as as steel. As you can imagine, this makes carbide highly desirable in precision machining applications. It’s rigid, strong and resistant to wear, translating to greater control over the punch and fewer replacements.
Carbide Punching Machine
Carbide punches have a surprisingly long lifespan.
Compared to steel, tungsten carbide lasts for a greater span of time. As a result, carbide punches need to be replaced less frequently than their steel counterparts. So while steel might seem like the most cost-effective choice, the need for constant replacements offsets any upfront savings and makes them the more expensive choice in the long run.
Carbide punches boost productivity.
Every time a replacement is needed, not only do your maintenance costs go up, but productivity takes a serious hit. In order to improve productivity – which equates to increased profits – you need reliable wear parts that can hold up to the demands of your precision machinery.

That’s where tungsten carbide punches come in. Because of their rigidity and unparalleled strength, wear parts made from carbide have a long lifespan, effectively minimizing downtime, and as a result, the time spent servicing your equipment.

Lathe cutting a Thread
1. Long-Lasting Strength and Durability
Tungsten carbide is known for its superior strength. Whether you’re in the market for extrusion dies, stamping dies or shaving dies, the tungsten carbide construction helps our industrial dies last longer without damage or deterioration. Our tungsten carbide dies are also produced to meet industry standards, so you can rely on their efficiency and durability for years to come.

2. Save Money over Time
Though tungsten carbide wear parts tend to have higher upfront costs than steel parts, they also tend to last longer. By investing in tungsten carbide dies, you won’t have to spend the time and money to continuously replace your dies.

3. Increased Productivity on the Jobsite
Where replacement wear parts can cost more in the long run, and often require more maintenance and repairs, tungsten carbide dies help to reduce downtime and enhance productivity. Instead of continuously replacing wear parts when your machines could be running, opt for the durability and longevity of tungsten carbide dies.

4. Made in Michigan to Fit Your Specifications
We produce all of our industrial wear products right here in Saginaw County, Michigan, serving customers across the U.S. and Canada. Our technicians are dedicated to manufacturing not only quality, reliable tungsten carbide dies, but parts that live up to your high standards and specifications.
